Strategic Overview

Empire Maverick marked Empire Communities’ return to Toronto’s downtown market — a pivotal opportunity to re-establish the brand’s presence in the city’s competitive high-rise space. As lead creative, I directed the development of a bold, versatile identity and multi-channel campaign designed to resonate with urban professionals and capture the essence of King Street’s cultural energy.

The Mavericks

Breaking from convention, internal brand personas were transformed into outward-facing campaign ambassadors — The Mavericks. This strategy humanized the brand, creating a relatable, lifestyle-driven narrative that became the foundation for the campaign’s tone, visuals, and messaging.

Brand Collateral & Experience Design

The visual identity was expressed through an award-winning brochure and suite of high-touch collateral. Premium finishes — metallic foils, UV treatments, and tactile materials — reinforced the project’s luxury positioning while showcasing meticulous attention to detail in both concept and production.

Advertising & Activation

A comprehensive marketing rollout combined digital storytelling and traditional advertising to reach and convert target audiences across multiple channels. The integrated approach spanned social, print, out-of-home, and digital placements, uniting product-focused creative with aspirational lifestyle content.

An Exclusive Event Series

In collaboration with Toronto Life, I led the creative for an exclusive event series spotlighting The Mav Social Club — a curated preview of the lifestyle awaiting Maverick residents. These events deepened engagement, amplified brand awareness, and positioned Maverick as a symbol of Toronto’s modern sophistication.

Results

The campaign earned more than 35 industry awards, including recognition for branding, digital marketing, and integrated campaign excellence. Maverick became one of Empire’s most successful and widely recognized brand launches, cementing the developer’s creative leadership within the market.

Strategic Overview

As part of Empire Communities’ expansion into the U.S. market, Citified Atlanta was developed to introduce the builder’s Everyday Beautiful lifestyle brand to a new audience. I led the creative direction and design strategy for this editorial platform, positioning it as both a brand statement and a cultural guide for Atlanta’s Intown neighbourhoods.

The Citified magazine showcased the personality of Atlanta’s historic communities through rich editorial storytelling, modern design, and elevated production. By combining lifestyle content with brand storytelling, the publication served as a bridge between Empire’s established identity and the distinctive energy of its new market.

The Iconography

I directed the creation of a custom icon system that captured the industrial authenticity and architectural rhythm of Atlanta’s urban core. Each mark was crafted to reflect the spirit and history of its neighbourhood while uniting the collection under a single, cohesive design language. The resulting visual system balanced utility and artistry — bold, functional, and unmistakably Intown.

Strategic overview

Located in Toronto’s Yorkdale neighbourhood, Empire Maven was the developer’s flagship mid-rise condominium — an opportunity to position the brand at the intersection of boutique luxury and modern design. I directed the creative strategy and brand development, defining a visual and verbal identity that conveyed refinement, longevity, and quiet sophistication for an affluent, design-minded audience.

The Book

At the centre of the Maven experience was a collector-grade brochure conceived as a coffee-table statement piece. I designed and produced it to embody the project’s ethos of understated luxury — linen-wrapped covers, gold-stamped typography, and panoramic flat-lay imagery that celebrated craft and detail.

The result elevated a standard real-estate sales tool into an object of art — something residents would proudly display in their homes, extending the brand’s presence well beyond the sales centre.

The integrated marketing program extended the brand’s visual language across print, digital, and environmental channels. Elegant typography, a restrained palette of deep purples and golds, and cinematic photography established a consistent, aspirational tone across every touchpoint — from targeted email campaigns to large-format outdoor advertising.
